A true labor of love, the Cold Roll Steel Pickup is a fresh take on the classic steel pickups made famous by Ry and his slide playing. Designed and built almost entirely in house, it utilizes some of the best old and new world manufacturing techniques. Laser cut cold rolled steel plates are nickel plated for an attractive finish that helps preserve the steel. Unique potted magnets spread a magnetic field across the bottom and top plates, and through the pole pieces. This allows the strings to sustain more freely than a traditional pickup. The case is 3D printed using rigid plastic, and the coils are hand wound using enameled copper wire.
